Dr. Laura L. Walsh is a clinical psychologist, substance disorder treatment and recovery consultant, and professional author and educator.
She is a founding member of the addiction and recovery consulting firm, Resolute Recovery, LLC. As professional author and keynote speaker, Dr. Walsh has engaged both professional and lay audiences in education and workshops on topics ranging from the neurobiology of addiction and ADHD to recognizing codependency in relationships. An award winning researcher, her current interests are in the applications of evidence based practices to substance and process addictions to discover innovations in treatment.
Dr. Walsh earned an undergraduate degree from Texas State University in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology with a emphasis in Substance Use Disorders. She won the coveted ‘Emerging Scholar Award for Best Clinical Research Project’ for her original research titled, “Addiction Factors Within Obesity,” as well as multiple other awards for her work. Her experience and breadth within the field of addiction has yielded key specialties in ADHD, LGBT issues, and sex and sexuality.
